Thailand Enacts New Deportation Regulation to Enhance Legal Clarity for Foreign Nationals

What changed

Thailand has officially published a new Office of the Prime Minister's Regulation on Deportation. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul signed it. It started on 28 August 2026. This rule makes legal procedures clearer. It sets out specific steps for government agencies to deport foreign nationals. These are people involved in certain types of offences, such as illegal entry, working without permission, or using false documents. The rule also improves how the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Interior work together. This helps to speed up deportations after someone leaves prison.
