Explained simply
Imagine you're trying to get a permanent stay in the UK because your grandparent was British. Right now, you need to prove your English is good enough to have a basic chat and understand simple things (like 'B1' level). But from 26 March 2027, the UK is making it a bit harder. You'll need to show your English is better, more like being able to have a detailed conversation and understand more complex ideas ('B2' level). So, if you're planning to apply for permanent stay, you might want to brush up on your English or try to apply before that date if you're ready.
