Canada extends work permit application deadline for CUAET holders from Ukraine

What changed

Canada announced that eligible Ukrainian people and their family members can now apply for work permit extensions for longer. This applies to those who arrived under the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) or similar measures on or before 31 March 2024. It also applies to CUAET holders who were allowed to arrive by 31 December 2024. They can now apply until 31 March 2027 for an extension of up to three years. This measure helps Ukrainian people who are supporting Canada's job market during the ongoing conflict.
