Federal Council approves adaptation of Asylum Planning Instrument
What changed
The Swiss Federal Council has approved an important change to the Asylum Planning Instrument. It includes a new federal asylum centre in Buosingen. It removes the Schwyz location. The Director-General of the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has withdrawn a directive about taking asylum seeker applications. This directive was initially issued on 28 September 2026.
