Ireland Introduces Gradual Increases to Employment Permit Salary Thresholds with a New Roadmap to 2030
The Irish Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment has shared a new plan for Minimum Annual Remuneration (MAR) salary thresholds for employment permits. This plan starts on 1 March 2026. It will gradually increase the salary amounts needed for General Employment Permits and Critical Skills Employment Permits. The plan will also remove lower salary thresholds for some jobs in farming (agri-food) and healthcare by 2030. This aims to make Ireland more competitive and help both businesses and workers.
