USCIS Mandates New Edition of Form I-864, Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the INA, Effective 31 August 2026

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has released a new Form I-864. This form is an 'Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the INA'. Its edition date is 24 August 2026. This updated form becomes mandatory from 31 August 2026. USCIS will not accept the previous version, dated 10 October 2024. This applies to any form sent by post or online on or after this date. A new part of the form is a privacy release. This lets USCIS ask for information from consumer reporting agencies.
