Yukon Nominee Program Introduces a Strategic EOI-Based Selection Process for 2026-Closed
What changed
The Government of Yukon started a new way to choose people for the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) for 2026. This new way uses an Expression of Interest (EOI) process. The programme will nominate a maximum of 282 people. Employers cannot apply directly for a full nomination anymore. They must first send an Expression of Interest during one of two set periods. Yukon will rank these Expressions of Interest based on its 2026 priority areas. Yukon will then invite selected employers to send a full application. For 2026, Yukon wants to prioritise certain groups. These include regulated health-care professionals and employers in rural Yukon. It also prioritises foreign nationals who have specific links to Yukon. These links include living and working in Yukon for at least one year. They also include being a graduate of Yukon University. Francophone or French-speaking candidates are also prioritised. People who got a Temporary Measure Letter of Support in 2024 or 2025 are also prioritised. The new process also has a strict rule about Expressions of Interest not carrying over. An Expression of Interest sent in 2025 or during the first 2026 period will not automatically move to a later period. Employers must send a new Expression of Interest with updated information each time. There were two periods for sending an Expression of Interest for 2026: 19–30 January 2026 6–17 July 2026 Both of these periods are now closed. The full applications for the second period were due by 26 August 2026.
