Hong Kong and Shenzhen Introduce 'Joint One-Stop' Clearance and Flexible ID Use at Huanggang Port

What changed

Hong Kong and Shenzhen are setting up a new joint one-stop clearance system at Huanggang Port. This system will let eligible Hong Kong residents choose which document to use. They must have both a Hong Kong identity card and a Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents. They can use either document at the first gate of the automated collaborative-inspection channels. This applies when travelling in either direction. This includes Mainland Travel Permits given to non-Chinese citizens. The aim is to make cross-border immigration clearance simpler. The exact start date is not yet announced. The new Huanggang Port must be ready to operate before it opens.
