-The OCI system has moved further toward digital updating and e-OCI cards. -OCI holders can download an electronic version of their OCI card through the OCI portal. -The e-OCI card can be presented digitally to airlines and immigration authorities when required. -When a new passport requires an OCI record update, the holder must complete the applicable online update process. -Once the update is approved, the e-OCI card reflects the updated passport details. -The physical OCI card is not automatically replaced by the e-OCI; the e-OCI is currently a digital representation of the OCI card.
