What changed

Mexico now uses a digital process to register people who come into the country by air. Foreign people who arrive at Mexican international airports do not need to fill out, carry, or show a paper Forma Migratoria Múltiple (FMM). The National Institute of Migration (INM) records the traveller's entry electronically. The FMM Digital (FMMd) can be downloaded after entry. The FMMd shows the traveller's approved immigration status and how long they can stay. Immigration officers check the traveller's documents at the airport. They stamp the passport or travel document. This stamp includes the estimated date the traveller must leave. This change only applies to arrivals by air. The old FMM process, both paper and electronic, still applies to some entries at land borders. This means the FMM has not been removed for all types of entry into Mexico.
