Manitoba Provincial Nominee Programme (MPNP) Conducts Expression of Interest Draw No. 272, Targeting Strategic Recruitme

On 4 June 2026, the MPNP conducted EOI Draw #272 and applied its existing strategic-recruitment selection approach to issue 104 LAAs. The draw considered profiles submitted under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba or Skilled Worker Overseas pathways where the candidate had declared receiving a direct invitation from the MPNP through a qualifying strategic recruitment initiative or through the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates. The 104 invitations were distributed across five strategic recruitment categories. Employer Services received 40 LAAs, while Ethnocultural Communities received 6, the Francophone Community received 17, Regional Communities received 2, and the Temporary Public Policy received 39. These selections were therefore directed toward candidates who had already been identified through Manitoba's strategic recruitment mechanisms rather than toward the general EOI pool. For candidates who had submitted an EOI and met the stated selection criteria but were not invited, Manitoba identified two possible reasons that could prevent selection: an invalid or missing language-test number despite declaring an approved third-party language test, or failure to provide a valid invitation number after declaring receipt of an MPNP invitation under a strategic recruitment initiative. Manitoba advised candidates in these situations to update their EOI with the correct information so that it could be considered in a subsequent draw. Of the 104 LAAs, 15 were issued to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code. Having an Express Entry profile therefore formed part of the selected candidates' profiles in some cases, but Express Entry status itself was not the standalone basis for this draw. The selection criteria applied specifically to Draw #272 and did not create a new MPNP stream, permanently change the EOI system or establish new general eligibility requirements.
