EU Adopts Fair Mobility Package to Enhance Social Rights and Skills Recognition for Workers

The European Commission has adopted a new Fair Mobility Package. This package aims to protect social rights and make it easier to recognise professional skills for workers throughout the European Union (EU). It lets people manage social security documents online. They can do this using a European Social Security Pass. It also digitises qualifications. This means faster recognition across borders. The package also gives the European Labour Authority (ELA) more power. The European Labour Authority is an EU agency that helps EU countries apply EU law on labour mobility and social security coordination. It will protect workers and fight illegal employment. These changes will apply in all EU member states. They will start once the European Parliament and the Council officially adopt them. The full benefits are expected by 2040.
