Hemispheric Sovereignty Initiative Targets Narco-Terrorist Organisations with Coordinated Sanctions and Visa Restrictions
The United States of America, along with 14 other countries in the Western Hemisphere, has started an initiative called the 'Shield of the Americas'. This joint effort includes freezing assets and putting immigration and visa restrictions on members, associates, and supporters of 24 identified narco-terrorist organisations. The policy is designed to make the hemisphere stronger across economic, security, and coordination aspects, and it came into effect on 22 September 2026.
