Norway Lifts Suspension on Returns to Lebanon

Norway's Utlendingsnemnda (UNE) has ended the suspension of the requirement for individuals to return to Lebanon, effective from 18 September 2026. This decision means that individuals previously affected by the suspension must now return, and the UNE will recommence processing all pending cases related to returns to Lebanon that were paused. The lifting follows an assessment that, while the security situation remains serious, it is no longer as severe or unpredictable as it was when the suspension was introduced.
