Sweden Clarifies Population Registration Requirements for Ukrainian Nationals with Temporary Protection

The Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) has made the rules clearer. These rules are for Ukrainian nationals who have temporary protection. They explain how these people can be listed in the Swedish Population Register and get a personal identity number. People can now apply if they have held a residence permit with temporary protection for at least one year. They must also expect to stay in Sweden for at least 18 months. This time counts from the date their permit was first given. They must tell the agency they are moving and go to an identity check. This change helps Ukrainian people who live in Sweden for a long time get important services.
