U.S. Implements New Visa Restriction Policy Targeting Foreign Nationals Involved in Race-Based Discrimination and Uncompensated Land Seizures in South Africa
On 15 September 2026, the U.S. State Department announced a new visa restriction policy. It uses Section 212(a)(3)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). This policy targets foreign nationals. These are people who are not citizens of the U.S. It targets those found responsible for, or involved in, laws or policies that allow: land seizures without payment, discrimination based on race, or causing violence against minority ethnic or racial groups in South Africa.
