Denmark Introduces New Rules for Third-Country Students in State-Approved Higher Education Programmes
What changed
Denmark is introducing new rules for third-country students enrolled in state-approved higher education programmes. Effective from 1 October 2026, the period for a residence permit for job-seeking after programme completion will be reduced from three years to one year. Additionally, accompanying family members will generally no longer be granted residence permits under these provisions. These changes apply to applications submitted on or after the specified date, impacting a broad range of international students and their families.
