There is a new mixed method for choosing Parent Resident Visa Expressions of Interest (EOIs). 90% of EOIs will be chosen in date order. 10% will be chosen by a random draw. The rule about applying again every two years and paying another fee is removed. EOIs will no longer become invalid after two years. This is true if people confirm they still want to apply and keep their information current. For people whose current EOIs became invalid and who sent them again within 90 days, the first date they sent their EOI will be used for choosing them in date order.
